RAW is all about empowering you – today’s generation of Indigenous creators.
We’re on the search for new and early-career creatives who want to get their online series pitched and greenlit.
To participate, send in an original concept, the one you’re most passionate about and one that can be made as a shortform online narrative series.
Think of fresh-voiced series like the twenty-something Insecure; the university comedy-drama, Dear White People; and the rap-scene drama, Atlanta. Or what about Australia’s ensemble-cast classic, The Secret Life of Us? Or the teen series Riverdale, and the highly controversial teen mystery drama, 13 Reasons Why?
Now reimagine these worlds told from your perspective, with your own compelling characters; and as a long-running shortform digital series with episodes of up to 10 minutes. In other words, great content that can be viewed on the go.
From the submissions entered, the RAW team chooses the top THREE concepts and their respective creator/writers for a one-week intensive development workshop.
Once the week is up, each creator/writer then pitches their concept to the RAW team.
From the three pitches, the RAW team chooses ONE concept to go through to the pilot-making phase.
Once the pilot is made, your concept is in with the chance to be considered for a commissioning offer from ABC Indigenous.
RAW also gives up to two more new and early-career writers the chance to be part of the writing team and help create this new awesome online series, made entirely by today’s Indigenous filmmakers for the world to watch.
For now. We are running a Second Open Submission Call-Out sometime in early October inviting passionate early-career directors and producers with a strong vision and a unique voice to bring the successful concept to the screen. Keep an eye out on RAW’s website and INSTAGRAM page for updates.

We’re not after a long list of credits. We want to hear from passionate storytellers with a vision and a unique voice.
We know there’s a tonne of creators living in cities, but we also know there’s a lot of you out there living on-country itching to tell your own stories – we also want to hear from you.
